Dartington Parish Council wants your input:
What is important to you about Dartington that the Parish Council should protect and enhance?
The Parish Council is developing a Strategic Plan to guide the council’s future decision making and invites you to let us know what matters the most to you about Dartington.
We would like to strengthen openness and communications with parishioners and the wider Dartington community so that we can deliver a Strategic Plan that fully considers the community’s priorities and enables the Parish Council to be more pro-active, forward thinking and strategic in its actions and policy-making.
The upcoming process of Local Government Reorganisation and the uncertainty of what assets, responsibilities, and services may be devolved down to parishes presents a pressing need to have strategic aims and a clear vision of what Dartington wants. By preparing for, and engaging in this process with clear strategic goals, the Parish Council will be able to better represent the views of the community during this transition of district and county councils into unitary authorities.

In February 2026 we will review the consultation responses and a draft Strategic Plan will be considered at the April 2026 Full Council.
The completed Strategic Plan will then be presented for adoption by the Council at the Annual Parish Meeting in May 2026.
The Strategic Plan will be a living document, reviewed at least every 12 months to ensure relevancy and purpose.
We welcome your views and thank you for contributing to this important conversation about the future of Dartington.
